It’s been a tough few months but as we slowly get back to normality, having fun is definitely on the cards this summer. Enjoy the relaxed setting of one our family cottages in north Wales but when you need some spine-tingling family fun, try these ideas!
Adventure Parc Snowdonia
Learn to surf or brush up on your skills in the safety of the wave pool at this amazing outdoor venue in the Conwy Valley. A hop, skip and a jump from any of our family holiday cottages, you can enjoy the thrills of the zipwire. Or, kick back with a spa day at the on-site wellness centre.
You may need to book as Covid secure restrictions are in place. You’ll easily fill a whole day at Adventure Parc Snowdonia.
Greenwood Family Park
Travel a little further along the coast to just outside of Caernarfon, and you’ll find this smashing adventure playground, designed and built with younger children in mind. But what is also different about Greenwood Family Park is that many of the rides are eco-friendly too, using momentum rather than electricity.
As with all attractions, check their opening times and whether you need to book due to decreased visitor numbers allowed due to Covid restrictions.
Llechwedd Slate Caverns
Now a member of the Zip World family, the tours and adventures at Llechwedd Slate Caverns are even better!
Slate quarrying was an important industry for decades in north Wales and this attraction makes the best of what is left behind in the scarred landscape. It offers adventure deep underground, as well as educational and informative tours of the mine.
There is something here for all the family and when you have exhausted the adventures here, pop along to the local town just down the road for refreshments.
Sygun Copper Mine
Copper is also a part of the landscape of North Wales and was mined in many areas for centuries. Sygun Copper Mine is just outside of the pretty village of Beddgelert but is one of those hidden gems that delight visitors.
The colours in the deep pools beneath your feet will amaze you, as will the history of this mine. Or you can try your hand at panning for gold in the cold river water or metal detecting for coins. There is also a children’s play area and a delightful riverside walk.
Tours are self-guided so there is no need to pre-book.
